Atletico Madrid midfielder have completed a loan move to Chelsea with option to buy after the completion of his short spell with the London club, MySportPlug reporting.
The player was offered to the Blues earlier few weeks ago after their intention to clear their salary cap by ensuring the play leaves on loan and not permanent.
Their good business relationship with Chelsea gave the Blues the upper hands in the deal for Saul Niguez which is now completed between the two sides.
This deal cost the Blues €5 million and they have an option to make it permanent for €40 million which could be happening at the end of the loan move pending how he performs for them.
The likes of Manchester United and Liverpool wanted to make a move which could have seen them sign him on a permanent basis, but Atletico Madrid were not interested.
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move last night during the summer transfer window deadline which also saw some other deals being completed before shut down.
“Saúl will play for Chelsea Football Club. The deal is done and completed. Here we go CONFIRMED. They’re signing now all paperworks. It’s DONE.
Chelsea have also confirmed his signature as he will be unveiled with a shirt number given to him ahead of their next game after International break is done.
Saul Niguez will be a good addition to their midfield which was a problem last season when the injury got too much with all the load falling on Jorginho and Billy Gilmour who had to fill in for NGolo Kante and Mateo Kovacic.
