VAR ruled out a late goal scored by Switzerland as they played out a 1-1 draw against Wales in the Euros2020 second game, MySportPlug reports.
First Half Report Wales 0-0 Switzerland
It wasn’t so much pleasing in the first half of the encounter which saw both sides playing a goalless draw that saw them being wasteful in front of goal.
Wales had their fair share of the number of wasted opportunities which saw them also being the second-best in the encounter all through the first 45 minutes.
Switzerland was responsible for missing more of the chances as they created more of them but yet their final touch was disappointing for the kind of players they possess.
The first half of the encounter carried on without a goal to report as the match opened up with more opportunities being recorded from both ends of the goalkeeper area.
It finally came to an end with Wales playing a goalless 0-0 draw against Switzerland which saw them heading for the break after a disappointing performance.
Second Half Report Wales 1-1 Switzerland
The second half was where all the fun and entertainment came as both teams showed so much character and improvement which saw goals being scored.
The first goal came in the 49th minute of the encounter as Breel Embolo gave Switzerland the lead from a brilliant finish to make it 0-1 with an assist coming from Shaqiri.
The match carried on with more coming from Wales who applied pressure on their opponent until Kieffer Moore pulled back leveler in the 74th minute to make it 1-1 as it progressed.
More coming from both countries who had some few opportunities until a goal was scored by Gavranovic but unfortunately it was ruled out by VAR after review.
The match ended with Wales playing out a 1-1 draw against the Switzerland team who were unlucky to have VAR spoiled their celebration from the late goal which was canceled.
